Barabara McLellan Canal Trips
The Barbara McLellan, a 65ft wide-beam canal boat with seating for up to 40 passengers which is owned by the Kennet and Avon Canal Trust. The Barbara McLellan is crewed entirely by fully-trained volunteers led by a team of fully-qualified skippers, all of whom enjoy spending time on the canal. The boat offers a fully-licensed bar with hot (tea, coffee, cappuccino, latte, hot chocolate and herbal infusions) and cold/soft drinks also served, plus a range of snacks.
Regular Trips
On Saturdays, Wednesdays and Bank Holidays the Barbara McLellan cruises west through the lock to the Avoncliff aqueduct (over the River Avon). On Sundays it travels eastward to Hilperton Marina. The canal is tree-lined in both directions, there’s a good chance of seeing wildlife and birds including ducks, swans, herons and maybe a kingfisher.
