The Secret Gardens of Bradford on Avon

Price: £7.50 | under-14s free

Have you ever wondered what is hidden behind Bradford’s stone walls and high hedges, along its alleyways and batches, and at the end of those intriguing flights of steps? Now’s your chance to find out (or rediscover) the town’s Secret Gardens.

This summer, after a pandemic-induced break of three years, Bradford garden owners are once again opening their gates and sharing their horticultural secrets on Sunday 28 May and Sunday 25 June. Landscaped acres, formal plantings, little gems and wildlife havens will all be on show, many with superb and seldom seen views across the town and beyond.

About a dozen gardens feature on each of the open days, from 2 – 6pm. Tea and cakes will be served, in aid of Save the Children; in addition, some garden owners will serve refreshments in aid of their own choice of charity.

Tickets (including a map and guide to the gardens, plus a wristband) are £7.50 per person (under-14s free) and can be booked online at www.bradfordheritage.co.uk until midnight on 27 May for the first event, and midnight on 24 June for the second.

They can then be collected from the Tourist Information Centre in Westbury Garden on the day before each event, between 11am and 3pm, and on both Sundays from 11am – 5pm.

You can also buy tickets in person at these times, paying by cash or card.
